Remembering Our Girlfriends

They were the African American version of 'Sex and the City'; with the same amount of class and their own flare the women of Girlfriends put the issues of minor women out there. As I watched the show I started to realize that it never had an ending. During the last writers strikes a couple of years ago some stations decided to just cancel shows, and my beloved 'Girlfriends' was one of them. How I miss Joan, Toni, Mya, Lynn, and even William.

So why am I writing about a show that has been canceled for a while now? I really can't explain my reasoning for it except for the fact that I think the show ended poorly. Maybe it's my beef with The CW, but that show deserved an ending that explained how everything ended. What happened with William, Monica, and their baby? What's next for Mya and Darnell? What's happened to Lynn's music career? Does Aaron come back from Iraq and the biggest question, does Joan finally get a man?

Unfortunately we will never know, the answers are lost. I just want to say thank you to Kelsey Grammar and Mara Brock Akil for bringing us the women that essentially became our girlfriends.
