Actress Cynthia Nixon from the HBO show Sex and the City announced that she is engaged to her longtime girlfriend Christine Marinoni. The couple has been together since 2003 after Nixon ended her relationship with Danny Mozes. Nixon and Mozes have a twelve year old daughter and six year old son together.The actress announced her engagement Sunday at the "Love Peace and Marriage Equality" rally in Manhattan. She was reportedly very excited about her engagement and was showing off her ring while at the rally. The couple became engaged last month. They are currently working together in support of the same-sex union bill that was proposed by the Governor of New York.
The actress has been through a lot in the last several years, a year ago Nixon announced that she had won her battle against breast cancer. The actress keep the information about having cancer a secret for a year and a half. She stated in an interview that she didn't want to go public with the information for the sake of privacy and to keep paparazzi away from the hospital. Throughout her battle with cancer Nixon stated in an interview that Marinoni was by her side and was supportive.
Currently their is no information about the details for the wedding. Nixon is scheduled to begin filming the sequel to last summer's Sex and the City Movie towards the end of May.
