Mind of a Diva

In the last couple of weeks I have been really trying to figure out a way to make the most out of my writing career and out of Sunset Hills. I have truly enjoyed the art of writing and being able to do that with blogging has been so fulfilling. In my efforts to find a way to revamp this blog, my heart lead me in another direction.

I ignored it for weeks, but then I finally decided to go with my gut and start a new blog. Mind of a Diva is about my thoughts and growth as a woman in her twenties. I graduated from college, I'm trying to start my career, and I have struggles. It tells about the good times and the bad along with what is on my mind. I truly love writing this blog everyday and it was just what I was looking for.

So that doesn't mean that Sunset Hills will stop existing or that I will not update this page as much. It just means that I will be juggling both at the same time. Also, I would love it if you as readers of this blog would visit Mind of a Diva, www.mindofadiva.wordpress.com and join in the discussions. Read, comment, and subscribe to what I say on there.

Thank you for your continued support and love.

Loves in The Office

Seems as though there are going to be some new couples emerging on 'The Office' this season as Pam and Jim begin to take a back sit. However, let's not kid ourselves Pam and Jim will always be our favorite couple. So who will be the it couple this season? For the answer I made a list.

Andy and Erin recently became and item in the last few episodes after dancing around each other for the later part of last year. Why we love them: Both of them are fun loving, they are dorky, and they are cute together. What might keep them apart: Erin has a weird brother that seems to have the hots for her and Andy seems to be fragile when it comes to relationships.

A couple of episodes ago Dwight and Angela signed an agreement to have a child together, which seemed to be more of a business deal. Why we love them: they are weirdly right for each other, the both have the same goal of trying to take over the office, they have similar personalities. What might keep them apart: Angela has a history of cheating and Dwight seems to have a connection with Pam's friend from the wedding.

To be bias I'm rooting for Andy and Erin, they are so cute.

Kendra's Here on Sunday

Sunday on E! Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett is back and she's bring her new hubby and baby along for the ride. The second season of 'Kendra' will be premiering and her whole new life will be out for the world to see. Through this season another side of Wilkinson-Baskett will be shown as she embraces and struggles with her life as a wife/mother and losing her baby weight.

Yesterday E! aired the 'E! True Hollywood Story' of the former playmate and how she back the women we have come to love. I found it surprising to know that she used drugs to the point that it almost took her life. However, it was inspiring to know that she found her way out of that life and is now living a life that most people would love to have. At the end of the interview she spoke about writing her story and how the book is coming out towards the end of July.

'Kendra' airs on Sunday at 9pm central on E!

The OC Reunites

Tonight Andy will bring all the housewives together and their side will be told, with nothing but class. The cat fights, financial issues, the melt downs, and the break ups will all be topics discussed during the two part reunion airing on Bravo starting tonight.

One thing that can be said about the housewives is that the O.C. ladies are nothing but classy. So don't expect what you would see from Atlanta or New Jersey going on tonight. They may raise their voice or move forward in their chairs, but that's all the action that's happening tonight.

Will Lynn Curtin come to truths with her daughters drinking and their teenager ways? Will Tamara Barney and Gretchen Rossi resolve their issues? How is Jeanna Keough's life now that she is away from the cameras? And is this Vikki Gunvalson's last season? Only in Orange County can all this drama come out.

Welcome Baby Halpert!

It seems like it was just months ago that Jim Halpert and then Pam Beesly were at Nigeria Falls getting married. The year before that Jim was proposing to Pam in front of a gas station, and months before that he asked her out in the conference room. Now, in about three and a half hours TV's favorite couple will become Jim, Pam, and the baby.

After being on hiatus due to NBC showing the 2010 Olympics 'The Office' is back tonight with a one hour special of the Halpert delivery. What will happen? Usually I can answer that question, but this one I'm going to leave alone. I didn't research like I usually do, I want it all to be a surprise. So if Micheal and Dwight do something then I will be seeing it for the first time along with everyone else.

Lets just hope that Micheal doesn't try to name the kid after himself. Or more importantly Dwight doesn't teach Jim his delivery tips and wants to go mark the baby.

Not Much to Parenthood?

I am a sucker for shows on NBC, I grew up watching 'The Cosby Show' and many other comedies produced by them, so I had to watch the premiere of 'Parenthood' that aired tonight. In my defense the commercials made the show look really good and Lauren Graham is on the show. She will always be Lorelei Gilmore to me though.

As I watched the show, I have to say that the enthusiasm I once had faded as it became apparent that it wasn't really funny. The first episode left with much to be desired as far as the script was concerned, and it all seemed too predicable. Sorry Ron Howard, but you are going to have to move away from the Ron Cunningham and more towards modern times with this show.

For a show that is basically another version of ABC's 'Modern Family' and 'Brothers and Sisters' I would think that NBC would try to put some distance between the shows. Right now 'Parenthood' need to make some changes before it gets canceled.

Good-bye Bachelor

With ABC's show 'The Bachelor' coming to an end last night as he chose Vienna Giraldi over Tenley Mozahn, people everywhere are talking about what happened. This morning in my kitchen my roommate asked me if I saw what happened, when I told her I didn't watch the show she looked like at me like I was an alien. Am I the only person that doesn't watch the show?

To me 'The Bachelor' is just a reality show that puts a camera in someone's face and has them pick someone they like. They get to go on these amazing dates see and do things that most couples don't get to. Then after the finale and the reunion show reality comes in and the fantasy that once surrounded the couple becomes a breakup for the tabloids to photograph.

I don't mean to sound pessimistic but the number relationships that have succeeded from the show is small. Maybe I'm being to critical of the show and I should just see it as a modern day Disney fairytale of adults. I just like to think love comes in time and with the world watching every hand hold and kiss. Somethings you have to let time run it's course instead of you running it.

NY and the Housewives

The realist ladies of Bravo are on there way back, and this season looks to be better than anything we've seen thus far. With every season my mind slightly changes on which Housewives are best. It seems that the Real Housewives of New York are undeniably the ones that rule the franchise.

Word is that this season is going to start out with drama and build up from there. All six of the women are returning this season, no one new has been added to the cast. Don't worry though, between the six of them there is enough drama to go around. Along with the drama viewers get to see inside the love/pregnancy story of housewife Bethenny Frankel. Also being shown this season is Luann de Lesseps as she goes through her divorce. She and her husband were going through problems with there marriage last season.

With all the tension flying around this season in all aspects of their lives these socialites have a lot handle.

Can Oprah Save Leno?

Is Leno doomed forever or does Oprah have the power to save him from America? With O'Brien having departed the show on January 22nd and Leno returning in March, Leno sat down with Winfrey to tell his side of the story.

Leno discussed many behind the scenes talks with Winfrey about his departure and now return to the 'Tonight Show'. He began by saying that NBC came to him about leaving the show without notice; which surprised him since he was doing well and number one in the ratings. Conan's contact was almost up with NBC and they wanted to keep him on. He went on to say that NBC had him leave the show earlier than he was scheduled to last year and would not let him out of his contract.

NBC then offered Leno his own prime time show that would allow him to stay with the network and keep his staff. He agreed to the deal, however, once the numbers came in the show was soon canceled. Leno continued to say that NBC offered him a half hour show which would push O'Brien back to Jimmy Fallon's time slot.

"I remember asking if Conan would be fine with that and they said, he will be fine," Leno told Winfrey, "Then Conan made a public statement." The statement was that O'Brien was leaving.

During the interview Winfrey asked Leno if he has talked to O'Brien during or after the talks. Leno stated that when the talks were going on he felt it wasn't his place. Right now he feels that it's not the right time for them to talk and is going to wait for things to cool down.

MTV & Reality

As much as it pains me, I will admit that I sat through an entire episode of MTV's 'Jersey Shore' and 'Teen Moms.' After it was over I deeply regreted watching it. What pained me the most about the shows was not how annoying the people and their so called issues were, but that shows like this are popular. Have shows based on stereotypes and exploiting people become entertainment? If so what does, that say about us for watching it?

'Teen Moms' portays the lives of teenage girls who are becoming or have become moms. The show makes it seem as though being a young mother is alright. One of the girls on the show barely takes care of her child, while another girl gave her child up for adoption and continues to have unprotected sex.

On 'Jersey Shore', which looks like a cheap version of 'Real World', a group of young Itailans share a house. They drink, fight, have sex, and party the whole time. Through the show they have made an impression on people, one that many Italians in New Jersey will have to live with forever.

Though some see MTV as a source of entainment, it looks like it's becoming pathetic. All I see are people that want their fifteen minutes of fame and MTV is there saying 'Let's make it happen.'

PR's Back in NY

Ladies, it's time for Season 7 of our Thursday's must have Project Runway. Although I have to say, Lifetime busting out 'Project Runway' faster than Bravo ever did. After one season ends another one moves right into it place. Nonetheless, the cast of our favorite judges and host along with the contestants are in New York again and competing for their shot at Bryant Park.

This new season is going to bring more difficult challenges for the contestants and I feel that we are going to be hearing Tim Gunn say, "Make it work" more often. With the way that these new contestants appear to be, I think we will be seeing a different side to fashion.

I hope Nina Gracia and Micheal Kors are ready.

Coming back for it's second season is Heidi (Klum) Samuel's show 'Models of the Runway'. The show follows the models as they compete with the designers for a chance to be at Bryant Park and in a magazine.

GND minus the Twins

It seems like it was just yesterday that we were introduced to the new residences of the Playboy mansion, and now things are already changing. After living in the house for about a year Kristina and Karissa Shannon, aka The Twins, are moving out. Leaving Mr. Hefner with just one girlfriend, Crystal Harris, who he tells E! things are getting "more serious."

The girls are moving out of the house and into the legendary playmate house next door. According to Hefner the twins have exhibited a lot of interest in the promotional/work aspect of the Playboy franchise. Hefner came up with the idea and after discussing it with the Shannon twins; they all agreed that it would be best.

The 'Girls Next Door' has already been picked up for another season and will include the twins as it did before. However, in the new season Kristina and Karissa Shannon will not be referred to as girlfriends. The new season is said to focus on Hefner's growing relationship with Harris.

OC: Simon vs. Tamara

'Real Housewives of the Orange County' fans saw the drama that is brewing in California right now (as far as the series is concerned), but the latest news comes to people as no surprise. Simon Barney, husband of housewife Tamra, filed for divorce yesterday ending there 11 year marriage. The couple has three children together.

It has been obvious this season that the couple were having marital problems, especially when it came to money, Tamra's son Ryan, and housewife Vikki Gunvalson. On last nights episode Tamra Barney went looking for another house as the family tries to move to cut cost. Then towards the end of the episode she is sitting with her mother at a restaurant and begins crying then stating that her marriage is going to head towards a divorce.

With everything that viewers have seen, it seems as though Simon Barney may be the cause for things getting this far. However in the papers he filed he stated the reason for divorce was "adultery" on Tamra Barney's part and that she was "verbally abusive." Tamra Barney denied the allegations on her Facebook page and thanked her fans for their support. She will be on Bravo's 'Watch What Happens' next Thursday.

G & B: Round II

Out of all the reality shows out there 'Giuliana and Bill' has to be my number one; and I'm not just saying that because she works for E! If you read my past post, you know that I like this power couple because they works just as hard as they play. So as the second season starts tonight I am anxious to see how they balance their lifestyles and a family.

The Rancic's got married back in 2007 and have been commuting between work and their relationship ever since. Mrs. Rancic works in Los Angeles and Mr. Rancic works in Chicago, so they are really getting some flier miles. Between flying back and forth and working they somehow find a way to maintain a successful marriage. With all this they are now going to try to squeeze a baby into the picture. This season should be interesting

To see 'Giuliana and Bill' watch the Style channel tonight at 8 pm central time.
